Hmm - that's hard because I have always cooked on gas and hated electric!! I guess the best advice I can give is you don't need the flame as high as you think when you're cooking food - yeah - make it high to boil something but then you can make it a lot lower to cook it or simmer it - good luck!

High is a large flame...(you're stove should have something on the knobs)...and low is a very small flame.
