Hey Brooklyn Girls, Lestan and Eleanore Schain for MOG dresses?

Since tomorrow is my day off and my FMIL is a teacher she is off for Brooklyn-Queens day, she wanted to go look at these places for a dress for herself for the wedding. I do not know the area to well or have any opinions on these stores, does anyone know anything good or bad about them?

I have been to Lestans. IMO, they are very expensive. When my BF was looking for her gown and our BM dresses, she went looking there. She found what she was looking for and was ready to order it. She then went looking somewhere else and found her gown $500 cheaper and our dresses almost $200 cheaper. I do not like them in there that much because they are a little snippy.

my MIL got her dress at LEstans
weekends are packed there
during the week is not that bad
I have heard good and bad about them on here but I never had a bad experience there
it has two floors and it old looking but they have a big selection to choose from and the prices are good
I got my gown and BM dresses there too and so did my mom! so they have been in business a very long time

My Mom always finds dresses there. She bought her dress for my sister's wedding there and another dress for a black tie wedding she had a few months ago.
We just ordered the BM dresses ther on Saturday.
It really depends on her taste. I say try it out. It can't hurt

I have only heard bad things about Lestan's service. I've heard about dresses arriving late, and very poor customer service. And they only let you try on 5 wedding gowns at a time. If you want to try on more, you have to make another appointment. I don't know anything about the other places you mentioned.

I tried on way more than five the day I went
maybe some of the workers make stuff up if they are in a bad mood or too busy? None of my dresses came in late
including mine
the seamstress was a doll

Eleanore Schain is a boutique in Mill Basin near Avenue U and Mill Ave.(I think). It is in the shopping center with Dagan Pizza, and Christina's pizza, and a hair place.

My mom bought two dresses (one for my wedding and one for my brother's wedding) at Lestan's last year. We had very little problems. My mom was way behind in getting my brother's and they got it in a week and didn't charge her extra. They did the alterations for the dresses in one day forus so we didn't have to keep coming back for fittings being my mom nor I drive and we live in Queens. Most everyone was very nice. We had a problem with one sales person (who wasn't even ours - she just tried to take our lady away from us and when she wouldn't leave us she was really nasty to us and gave us dirty looks). The girls at the front desk were a little more interested in their own personal conversations than waiting on you. But all in all it was a fine experience.
