Do you ever feel like all of your projects are going to go to waste? Don't get me wrong...I LOVE all my DIY projectsl; I'm having a blast planning them and putting them all together, and I think they will add a really nice personal touch to our wedding.
Its just sometimes while I'm putting together, say, a program that I work so hard on, I think someone will pick it up, look at it, say 'oh, thats nice', and then throw it away. I know some people will keep them, and I dont really care if people don't appreciate them...the project is more for me, I just can't help but think of that sometimes.

Re: Hey- DIY gals....
I was actually thinking something similar the other day. I was just thinking that if I didn't have the time I probably wouldn't do some DIY's that I'm doing. But I really do like the idea that since my dress is ivory and champagne that I'm not just buying a guestbook/unity candle/ring pillow, etc. because I want it to match and not be diamond white. My family and bridesmaids seem to be excited about the personal touches but I do sometimes feel like people won't appreciate it. I like that everything will be my personal style and that I had the time and resources to do it and too bad if no one else notices. Fh thinks its cute that I'm always so excited about the little details.

Re: Hey- DIY gals....
nope.. i received compliments on all of my DIY and how i didnt forget a thing.. all of the little touches were noticed and appreciated...if i had to say ONE that prob wasn't as appreciated.. i'd say the newsletters..a lot of people left them. opened them, read them, took their diabetes bracelet and left the rest of the newsletter. but it didn't bother me.. the newsletters took 20 minutes to design and $20 for the paper.. the kids activity packs were a huge hit as were the colorin books.. i was asked by several leavig guests if i could make and mail them activity packs for their kids who DIDN'T come to the wedding.. *just random kids at home..*.. i said yeah or course... sure.. NOT.. those things weren't free..

I was feeling the same way so I cut my DIY list down. One of the things I have just finished, was the bouquet jewelry. I made stems of glass beads and crystals to stick out of mine and BMs boo-k's. I am so happy with the way they came out. I decided to do only those little things that I konw may be a bit expensive to have them professionally done and that I KNOW I can do just as well as a professional.

I know I've kept certain DIY things from my close friends & family.. I think it's a really nice touch! I'm not going crazy with DIY- just maily the basics... but I'm having fun doing (well, starting most of them- lol). I think they will be appreciated

anything we have done to save money, even if time is involve, is not a waste to us. We have saved 1000's of $ nixing things and doing it ourselves.
