hey girls, speaking of having NO MONEY

Original post by JessicaM.

do we still want to make on (or two) of these GTG's bridal showers for each other. I posted this question a few months back and got some really great responses.

with some of our girls coming up VERY soon (Januarybride and hmpena right in the front there) I thought we could make the Oct. GTG the first '06 shower!!

whatcha think?? of course, we would have a strict limit on the amount- just to show our love and appreciation for the help we all (hopefully) provide to each other.

I was thinking what if we did a secret santa type thing? Everyone gets one girl to buy a little something for?

ETA: whoops...started the post before I went to lunch and just finished it now and missed the other posts...sorry!

I just remembered that somewhere in my original post, one of you smart ladies (I think it was Leslie) remarked that if we do a Secret Santa and someone doesn't show, whoever they had would be without a gift,

so.........I think the 'wishing well' is the best bet.

do you ladies want to start our own online registry....I think we will have to do more than one, to get every '06er that wants to be involved....

we could have an '06 LIW registry at either Target or bb&b....

have I lost my mind or what! LOL

I love ya Jess, but YES, you've gone and lost your mind!

This is getting complicated for me...I'm dumb...please keep this in mind.

you may be right. I may be crazy
but I just might be the lunatic you're looking for!

LOL sorry, LIW shout out to Billy

anyway, maybe we can recruit an '05 bride to do this for us. we can all FM her with our name and where we are registered, and she can pull names out of the hat and fm everyone with the results.

and whoever she is....a drink from each of us! LOL

Okay...still confused? Do we each buy one thing? Just like a secret santa?

If so, why register? Can't I say 'I need a ladle' to whoever will be matching/exchanges the names?

yeah- that could work, I think.

I was just trying to avoid someone registering for something that they need and then asking one of us for it, then getting doubles, that's all.

Doesnt' this bring us back to the problem if there are no-shows?

I had posted on Jess's original post a long time ago that no names should be exchanged. At my job for Christmas, the day of 'Secret Santa' you bring a gift, whoever brings a gift can participate. Then you randomly select a number out of a hat and that is the order that you get to pick your gift out of all the gifts, this way no one gets screwed.... we could use this same thing for our shower.
