Re: Hey Gym Go'ers....
I aim to run at least 2.5 miles each day. At least twice a week I try to run 4.5-5 miles. Days that I run shorter distances I also do weights. Free weights are the best, as well as lunges and squats. Abs every day.

I prefer the classes. I usually try to do a step class, cardio class, and then an interval training class.

Re: Hey Gym Go'ers....
Ok heres mine: Alternating days based on a 6 day schedule (sundays usually I take off)
Cardio for 30 to 60 min based on caloric intake the day before. I tend to do a combo of three of these: Elliptical/Bike/Treadmill. You need to sweat. Only way you lose. This happens usually days 1/3/5
Strength: 30-45 min. Focused on body sections per 15 min, keeping abs tight. Days 2/4/6 Example: 15-20 min on Bottom half (glutes/thighs/calves etc) 15- upper body (arms, back, shoulders chest) 15 abs (obliques included) 10 min stretch, (can be broken up 5 for warm up 5 for cool down)
I slacked off before christmas, but last week I jumped back in the game stronger and harder. I will probably really focus my attention on Strength as the wedding approaches. Noone likes Oprah Arms. Or a flabby butt in a mermaid gown...

Re: Hey Gym Go'ers....
If you need motivation, try signing up for a race. I've posted this before, but I signed up for a half marathon last year, and went from running 2 - 3 miles to 13.1! My key is to sign up early and then tell everyone so that I can't slack with training.
There's a women's only half marathon on 4/26 in Central Park. I did it last year, and it was amazing!
And you can totally train on a treadmill. I do about 75% of my training that way.

Re: Hey Gym Go'ers....
I usually run 3 times a week, 3 miles for 2 of the days and then one day a week, I do interval training which is basically a full out sprint for a minute or as long as you can, and then reduced down to a jog again until you have enough energy to bust out another sprint. Then 3 days a week I do weights usually concentrating on squats, lunges and abs. Ugh, the last couple of weeks I have been slacking though!

Colleen! Sign up for the More Half in April - Rachel and I are both doing it. You already have a great base, so training won't be that bad, just takes time and dedication.

Re: Hey Gym Go'ers....
each time i go to the gym i do 20-30 minutes of weigh training and abs ( i rotate muscle groups each time... btwn legs, arms and back/shoulderfs) and always do atleast 2 ab exercises. i follow that up with 30 minutes on either the treadmill or elliptical (2 miles sometimes more).

I actually wanted to do the half in May..but a few people said I should try the 10k first..so i kinda got discouraged. I'm thinking 2011 I'm gonna go for the half!
