Rach-my mom works at a seafood restaurant in LIC...not sure if that is too far for you...Waterfront Crabhouse - not sure about the price though...and may need reservations - but if you want to go I can have my mom call.....(she not at that job today).

John & I love London Lennies on woodhaven, my dad was married to the owners wife at once We eat there at least once a month, we'd go more but yes it can be pricey

My mom has worked there for 25 years or so!!!! She is the maitre d for the catering upstairs and the bookkeeper - three days a week - upstairs. Practically runs the place.
Rach-going out for happy hour and japanese in the city tonight with 3 other couples. Not sure about tom. yet. (email me!)
The restaurant is over closer to the 59th Street Bridge - closer to me (astoria) - maybe 20 minute drive? Email me if you want to go and I can have my mom call for a reservation if you can't get one!
PS -I just realized I butted in on a hey-jennbaby thread! LOL
