Hey ladies! ANyone been to bermuda and want to tell me about it?

I want to surprise DH with a trip to bermuda soon...

Anyone been there? Where did you stay?

Love, love, love Bermuda! I've been there a couple of times and my best friend got married there.

I've stayed at both the Southampton and Hamilton Princesses. Also, the Sonesta Beach Hotel (which I don't is there any more). When my friend got married she rented a couple of bed and breakfast places out for everyone. However, some guests stayed at White Sands and others at Elbow Beach.

It's a great island - small, charming, safe. There's not a whole lot to do, which is really nice I think. Definitely go to Horseshoe Bay and I like Crystal Caverns too. The beaches are great. You can't rent a car on the island - only mopeds or your have to take taxis everywhere which is expensive.

love love love bermuda. we want to buy a house there. (maybe like 15 20 years down the road). we stayed at the fairmont southampton which is on horseshoe bay. definitely the best beach in bermuda. hotel is fabulous and has GREAT food.

definitly check out 'the swizzle' its a restaurant down the road from the hotel. probably about 2 miles down the road.

we didnt take a taxi anywhere we took the ferries and the buses. i recommend getting the one day or 3 day passes for public transoprtation. it was $12 pp. we took the bus to dockyard (where the cruises dock so some nice little shops) they also have snorkel park there but its way too crowded there. and the martime museum with dolphin quest is actually really nice. we enjoyed walking through that.

the ferries and buses are really nice. nothing like ny public buses. the people are so nice and friendly.

you can drive by where bloomberg lives on your way to or from the airport.

i actually thought hamilton was borring but theres lots of restaurants and shops there as well as the ferry.

st george was eh. it was really hot and we just walked up to the unfinished church which was gorgeous and then did a lil food shopping (restuarant food is very expensive in bermuda) then we took the ferry back.

def check out crystal caves.

somerset bridege watersports is very reasonably priced. we were going to rent a boat and go out snorkeling but we werent able to. they have jet sking tours too which are reasonably priced.

the one thing we wanted to do that we didnt get to was go to blue hole park. its just hiking trails but they have some 'caves' that are pools of water and you can go into the water and swim around. thought it would be adventourous but we didnt have enough time to go.
