Yes they did!
Didn't work because people wanted to do research and you can not research chat rooms. Everyone basically stopped using them because of that so out the door they went!

Ladies would go into a private chat room to discuss wedding planning, vendors, etc. That info was private thus if someone wanted info on xyz vendor and that vendor was discussed in that chat room the person researching them wouldn't benefit from the private chat room conversation.

Ooooh, so the chat rooms were private and not like... AOL chat rooms. So I guess that reduced the conversations on the boards? I see.

It did at first then no one used the chat rooms anymore. You could have as many people as you wanted in the chat rooms but once the session was closed all the info went with it. All the ladies preferred the message boards.

Makes total sense now, thanks.

I do like the idea of like.. an instant, one on one real time forum mail type deal... like FB messenger like Lena suggested. That would not suck
