i also owe travel tom $$ for the hm friday!

when i told fh he said normally you pay for the hotel when you get there not upfront and that this is strange any thoughts???

i would think a deposit and then balance at check out...incase there are incidentals!

me too! we paid the deposit and airfare but to pay for the hotel before we get there is strange no?

any vacation i've ever taken i've always paid everything up front and never had any problems with that. at check-in they ask for a cc incase there are any incidentals. i never knew you could pay for the hotel when you got there.

Really? I thought that was standard practice--typically you give a credit card and they sometimes charge a one-night deposit, but usually not even that. Typically you aren't charged until you arrive.

If you book a hotel on your own then yes you pay the balance upon check out.

when you book through a TA you pay the agent not the hotel.

You will still need to leave a credit card when you check in for incedentials.

my biggest acations, including my HM, i booked through AA vacations, who i guess is essentially a TA service. those had to be paid in full a month before you left.
