Well, house hunting went ok.

Is anyone else having this problem? We know that we cannot afford exactly what we are looking for at this point, but maybe in a few years. So, we know we are looking for a 'starter home.' But, all of these houses are have things that we don't like.

For instance, this house has a smallish kitchen and the bedrooms are a bit on the small side. However, the house is in good condition (newer kitchen/bath, etc.) and is big enough for now.

Knowing that it is a starter home, I don't know why we are hesitating since this house is pretty good. I know one reason, the house is still expensive.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, did you pass up on the house or did you go through with it?

P.S. One reason we are eager to buy is that we are living in an apartment and I feel like we're wasting money each month by paying rent.

IMO- again JMO- you need to look for a home that you can a)afford, of course and b) will last you for a while. In most cases, we would all love bigger kitchens, or another stuff in our current home but you learn to work with what you have. Have a list of priorites. For instance, I wanted a dinning room, some people could care less about that and love eat in kitchens. So you need to know what is important to you and your husband (just like the wedding) and go from there.

P.S.- always lift everything on the kitchen counter when looking. A lot of people use counter savers or their big mixers to hide burns, cracks etc.. on the counter tops. Just a hint I was given once.
