Hey ladies I just got engaged on July 3rd and am looking forward to planning our wedding for October of 2010. I am sure I will get loads of info from this site. My first question is do I register before my engagement party or after?

you can do whichever you prefer, i would maybe register before ht eeparty to give those guests that dont know what to get you the option

We registered the minute we set our date at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Liberty Travel. We weren't even thinking about registering for the e-party we just wanted the gun.
Personally I think monetary gifts should be given for the e-party. By the time my friend's shower came around there was very slim pickings on the registry because everyone had gotten her those gifts for her e-party.

I would register because people will appreciate having an idea of what you need. I have had people buy gifts off of my registry.

Congrats! You can totally register before the eparty. We didn't because we would rather get money to help us and we wanted to wait a little while longer until we find a place to live but now I have the bug and I want to register soon so that when we do find a place to live we'll already have stuff lol
Congrats!! We are the same way we are going to wait to register. We don't have our own place so it's not like we need anything right away!!!
