and I'm planning the bridal shower. I really haven't done this before and haven't been to many. I hear what a great help you all are to eachother. So far this is what has been arranged. It will be at the Miller Ridge Inn. I would love to hear what you all think of that place. How is the food? service?
I would LOVE to hear from someone who had their shower in one of the rooms above the restaurant or has ever been to one. I wish I could have arranged for the carriage house but I couldn't guarantee enough women.
What can I do to make it special and memorable for the bride? I am crafty and would love suggestions.
Thank you very much. I can't wait to hear your ideas.

Re: Hi I'm here as a MOH...
I'm not very crafty or that creative, but I just wanted to suggest a website that helped me when I was a bridesmaid.

Good luck!

I had my wedding at the Cottage which is different than the restaurant, but I've eaten there a bunch of times, and its always been good. The food at my wedding was wonderful. I'm sure you'll have a great experience there.

Just a suggestion, but when it comes to opening gifts, don't have the bride read every card and unwrap every gift. Have some of the bridesmaids unwrapping gifts and then pass them to the bride to show off. That's exactlly what I'm asking my friends to do. After all, watching the first couple of gifts be opened is fun, but then it just drags on and on.

I've been to a baby shower at the restaurant, i think- is that the only other 'house' besides the carriage house? If there is more- then I am not sure what 'house' or room it was in. Anyway, also been to a wedding in the Carriage house and another event like a'formal'. Food and service were always good!

Dino, there is the Carriage House, the Cottage, and the restaurant itself with rooms upstairs. Maybe that's considered the 'Inn'.
Great idea about the other girls upwrapping the presents and the bride showing them and announcing the name of the giver.

Thanks dino. That is a great idea about the girls unwrapping everything first. I also appreciate the Bridesmaid website. They suggest bringing string for someone to retie the gifts. Never would have thought of that one!
What have you seen for nice centerpieces? I've seen some nice silk floral centerpieces, but I also like the idea of balloons.
Crazy thought here ..... has anyone ever seen balloons coming up through the center of flowers? The arrangement I'm thinking of has three hybiscus type flowers with thin spidery type leaves.
I would really love anything else you can tell me. I'm really trying but I'm kind of lost.

Yes, the Milleridge Inn is the restaurant. The Carriage House is a smaller reception venue and then there is the Cottage House for the bigger receptions...and that is where I got married.
The food and service there were incredible...however, I've heard that the chefs for all 3 places are different...and I've never eaten at the Milleridge Inn...but, it's been there a long time, so, I would assume it's good.
