Re: Hi ladies...

Try Chateau La Mer in January on a Sunday afternoon. You will get a very low price. Also, I am sure you know this, but try to have a smaller wedding.

Another place to try would be the Brentwood CC. They do package deals that include everything for very low prices.
Good Luck!!!!

Are you trying to stay on Long Island or are you open to other places in the metro area?

Re: Hi ladies...

The most affordable places I found when I was looking was Leonard's, Coral House and Milleridge Carriage House, Verdi's of Westbury, and KofC Oceanside (very inexpensive). Also if you are not opposed to a winter wedding getting married on a Sunday afternoon in Jan/Feb was the most affordable option even at the bigger name halls.

You may want to look at KofC halls. I looked at the one in Oceanside and one in New Hyde Park. I also heard there is a nice one in Seaford called the Memorare Club.

Also you can try the barn at Queens County Farm. You can rent it $1,000 for 4 hours any day of the week of time, even a Saturday night. They provide the tables and chairs. Then you can have it catered it can be as simple or extravagant as you would like.

Another option is Queens Botanical Gardens. I heard they have redone their party room and that it looks great.

Good luck!

Re: Hi ladies...

You can check out landmark on the park (landmarkonthepark.org) in the city and there's also one in jersey called the woman's club of ridgewood (www.ridgewoodwomansclub.com)

You can supply your own food to both of these places.

Queens Botanical is not doing any weddings right now because they are in the middle of working out a deal with a catering company. Once the deal is finalized, anyone who wants to have their wedding their must use that caterer only...kind of like what botanical gardens in the Bronx and Brooklyn have been doing.

Oh, good to know about the Queens Botanical Garden!

Also, I've read on here that the Bayard Arbotoreum has a party space. I have no idea how much it costs but it might be worth looking into.

How many people are you planning to have?

Also, do you want an all inclusive pkg?

Re: Hi ladies...

I am getting married on a thursday in July and saved a lot of money because of it. Try Larkfield Manor, they are great.

How many people do you want to invite?

The guest list is the problem....it looks like around 300....neither set of parents are helping out, my parents can't financially, and FH parents are a-holes, long story.... yet, they want to control the guest list...

Since you and fh are the only ones financing your wedding is there anyway you can cut your list down a little more. Having an afternoon wedding as oppose to eve is a little less. Unless you are stuck on tradition as far as 'saturday wedding' even doing a wedding during the week is much cheaper.

Unfortunately those quotes are old. I went by that and when I called the halls for a March date they were all higher.

It may be a good guidline to go by though
