High Voltage versus Tommys Tunes

Original post by SchmoopyBride

Anyone meet with both of these guys and have opinions? I have a crowd I need to get on the dance floor preferably without the YMCA and the conga line. Anyone have ideas as to who would be better?

I'm using vinny. He was the only DJ we met
with and we booked him on the spot.
I've only heard great things about him.

Exactly!

Thanks for all the input-Joe E isn't available for that date, Tommy's Tunes actually recommended Fred as the MC but I don't know him.

My only fear with Vinny is that he stays behind the booth all night and my guests might need extra probing...

actually i booked tommy tunes..and cancelled..i was NOT happy with the way i was treated..i called vinny to see if he was available and im now using him...i would vote vinny..i think there are like 3 guys from tommy's tunes that are supposedly great..but if you dont get them then you pay more for nothing..and they DONT let you request a dj/mc..so if you want to book them..make sure its in your contract..they are nothing special in my opinion

I used Tommy Tunes so Im a little partial. BTW they were UNBELIVABLE. And no Cheesy YMCA or Funky Chickens if you dont want. I hate all those songs, I told him no Electric Slide and someone asked him to play it and he said NO, brides wishes.

I met with Tommy Tunes but couldn't handle the blue tuxedo shirts.

I met with both of them and definitely would say Vinny. It really depends on the type of wedding you would like. For me, although the music is the most important part, I'm not into all the extra stuff that Tommy Tunes offers (everything from arcade machines to balloon animals :) Vinny sells himself by excellent customer service, never selling you a package you don't need, and giving you exactly what you are looking for.

Exactly! Another vote for Vinny

Vinny is awesome!!! We saw Tommy's Tunes at a bridal showcase and they pressured us to make an appointment and told us certain things we would definitely need at our wedding...That left us with a bad impression of them...When we went and saw Vinny, he asked us why we thought we needed all of these extra things because he said we really didn't need them...I loved Vinny from the beginning!!! We booked him on the spot and we couldn't be happier!!!!

We met with a couple of DJ's (not with Tommys Tune) and booked Vinny on the spot. He listened to us and gave us what we needed to make our reception great. He was very easy to work with and did an awsome job for us.
