If so, how far in advance are you getting them done?

I regularly get highlights, and I'll be getting my last touch up about a week and a half before the wedding.
If you've never had them, I'd think you'd want to start now to make sure achieve the look you're going for.

The woman doing my hair said that 2 weeks is standard but I get them regularly.
I agree that you should test it out first if you've never had them before...

I usually get highlights but for the wedding I wanted to go a little more to my 'natural' color so I did low lights.. I did it I think 3 weeks before the wedding..

I get them done all the time - going tomorrow actually! Orginally I was going to go 2 weeks before, but I have som stubborn grays, so I decided to go the week before instead.

I was planning on getting them done about 2 weeks before, but now i'm thinking i should do it a bit earlier. I have had highlights before, but not in yrs and this will be a new place i'm going to. So i may go about a month before now.

2 weeks - gives your hair enough time to get adjusted to the new color

I am doing them one week before, that is what my hairstylist recommended...I think one or two weeks would be fine.

She wanted to do them the week before, but I told her no way, I will have too much to do the week before and wont have time to worry about getting my hair done.
So I told her about at least 2 weeks before. Good enough for me....

I got highlights the Saturday before the wedding (wedding was on Friday)...the best part was that they got a lot loghter during my HM - worth the trip to SI!

This is what I'm doing as well. I get regular highlights (going tomorrow), so I'm not worried about going that close to the wedding.
If you've never gotten them done I would start now and find someone you like and trust.
