Highlights in Queens(Bayside) or Nassau area?

Hi Ladies:

I was thinking of going a little lighter (gradual at first). I've never had highlights, but my hair is so dark I thought maybe some highlights would give it more volume and light... and i should probably try it now way before the wedding...

Does anyone have suggestions for a good salon for gradual highlights for brown hair? I live in Bayside and I've gone to Christie's for a haircut, but I don't know if they're good for highlights... and I would travel to Nassau...

Thanks so much!!!

i go to trendsetters salon in whitestone. its on 7th avenue and 149th street. i also live in bayside and i find that christys is way overpriced. ive been going to sole at trendsetters for years now for my highlights. she does a beautiful job and for a reasonable fee.

Christies is overpriced and has a tendency to make everyone blonde, me a brunette with red undertones, included.

I now go to Creative Hair in Douglaston, a friend of mine works there and does my hair, both color and cut. Can't complain. 718-428-5301
It's a small salon, Nancy is the owner and Karen is my friend. Reasonably priced.

There's also Intercession salon on Francis Lewis Blvd in Whitestone. They've been around for a while.

I used to go to Christie’s but my hairdresser left and opened her own salon and does color also. She is sooo sweet and is GREAT!!! I have never gotten a bad cut or color with her!

Bella’s Beauty Salon
19227 Station Rd
Flushing, NY 11358
(718) 229-2939

It is right around the corner from the Auburndale LIRR station.

HTH!

I have very dark brown hair and was scared to do highlights for my wedding day. I went to Station One ( a small salon on Bell Blvd off 48th Ave-- across from CTOWN)... They did a wonderful job. They made them thin and suttle --not chunky--barely noticeable. Just what I wanted-- & my husband loves them. Maryann is the owner and she is great but she was busy sand Liz did my highlights--- I think she did an awesome job. they lightened up a bit more on my honeymoon and they still look so nice!
