First off i want to say this is an incredible website.. i found to it too so helpfull even after a quick brouse.
We havent really set our wedding date but know it will be in 2008.. might seem like a long time from now but i want to get an early start and get to know whats out there. So far we have approx. 150 guests
So far the country clubs look fantistic for the reception. i have my heart sent on that look but to list a few halls that look fantistic are !!!!!!!!! Leonard's of Great Neck!!!!!!!!!!! congrats, have you checked out Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point. One wedding at a time, great staff, gorgeous place. Awesome coctail hour and food!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that Jericho Terrace could come close to that price range if you pick an off month (November - March) and a Friday or Sunday night or Sunday afternoon. But then again, I'm biased!!

Congrats and Good Luck with all of your plans. If you are looking to get within that price range there are a few things you could try... Try having your wedding on an off month (October 1st - Mid April) is what I was told by the BM at FF is considered 'off season'. That of course excludes holidays and Christmas time can peak in price for some places, other places you get a deal at Christmas--ask around. You could also try having a day wedding rather than an evening wedding OR have your reception on a day of the week that is not so popular like Thursday or Sunday (becoming more common to do so nowadays). I'm getting married at FF on a Sunday so we could afford it b/c we have such a large guest list...my FH's side, not mine!! You can also try to be flexible with what you are getting at the reception. If you know that after a large cocktail hour having an intermezzo or salad is really not needed, ask if they will take money off for that. Also, ask if you cut down the menu in any other ways- they will cut down the price a bit. This will also give you an idea as to how flexible, accomodating, and easy to work with the site is! You have a lot of different options. Again, Good Luck!
