Hiring *****

Hiring *****

We are hiring. The resumes that I am getting are BRUTAL. But yesterday I got one that made me laugh out loud and I wanted to share.

First – it was written in the handwriting of a 2nd grader. Second… well here, let me just show you – this is the cover letter – EXACTLY as written:

I just Left a Electric Co.
What does your Office Offer And
What Does your Office Need
To Whom it May concern. I work Like a
Madman. No Kidding

I WISH to GOD I was joking. But that is exactly how I received this person’s cover letter. No changes to capitalization or spelling or spacing at all.

Think I should call him in for an interview???

no... no - he is definitely a product of the good ol' USA. In fact, he even served on a town advisory board at one point. I ain't sayin' which town or where... but he is American.

that makes it all the more terrifying. i also thought, after re-reading it, that english was his second language and that's why he was having trouble expressing himself.

Plenty of people born here are not speaking proper English. I don't need to refer to all those (your vs you're, 's, etc...) posts

In regards to the OP, I would HAVE TO set an interview.

I don't understand why everyone is making fun of that resume.

It seems to me that is a PERFECTLY GOOD hall monitor application! You shouldn't be so tough on the third graders.
