I am the only person who is having a bit of agita about leaving the US? I am scared my luggage will get lost, items will be stolen from my room and I'll get sick??? What is wrong with me? I read Trip Advisor reviews all the time. I can read 50-60 reviews of our HM spot and I get two bad and it ruins for me... What is wrong with me??? Marriage doesn't freak me out, wedding money doesn't either but when it comes to traveling to a different location... I'm scared to death.... Anyone else ???

You're not nuts ... A lot of people get nervous. It's all about being out of your comfort zone. Don't fret over it... everything will be great. And if they lose your luggage, laugh it off, you'll get it back. everything will be wonderful. You'll be with DH and having fun and you'll be so swept up that you will forget about your worries.

hahah i get very nervous too. Not because Im afraid of crashing or terrorists or losing luggage or anything. I just get very antsy.. But hey Ive flown 349587 times and left the country 9283 times And its OK! You will be FINE! Just think about how RELAXING it will be once you get there! And where exactly are you going anyway?

I travel a lot out of the Country, I have NEVER had a problem. Your luggage can get lost going from here to Boston, just as much as if you were on a 13 hour flight. Also, if you go to a reputable place, you will not have to worry about items being stolen, most have safes in the room.
TripAdvisor is a great source, but like here, everyone has their own opinion and you can not listen to every one of them.

Excellence Riveria Maya... it looks super awesome. But I read two bad reviews (lol out of 60 great ones) that said they had items stolen from their room and the other one said that the room was nasty.

I'm sure everything will be fine. I have been out of the US down south a handful of times and have never had a bad experience! Once in Mexcio, I thought I was starting to feel a little ill and just OD'd on Pepto bismo. When I travel I bring Immodium, an allergy medicine, advil and rolaids. Everything you need to feel better!! Once on a cruise ship I got a little sea sick, but since the whole boat was, I felt OK about it, I just drank some apple juice (it works awesome for sea sickness!) and felt great 20 min later!! As far as stuff being stolen, it only happened to a person I was traveling with and it was a green illegal substance, so I see it as he is lucky he wasn't arrested or thrown off the boat. Remember, all reveiws, like the ones on this board even, all have to be taken w/ a grain of salt. Good and bad experiences happen to everyone. And some people have different expectations, go, have a great time and don't stress.

Plenty of people worry, but you shouldn't. SO many people travel all the time with no incidence. And don't let one bad review screw with you and second guess your choice--it's all opinion so one person's may not be yours. You're going to a reputable place, so they'll have safes and nothing will get stolen.

If you are worried about the safe in your room, then put valuables in the hotel safe. Most hotels have a hotel safe that you can put stuff in--they make you fill out some paperwork and in it goes for safekeeping. You can even put your CHI flat iron in there!
I sometimes worry about this too, which is why when I travel I don't really bring anything valuable and wear inexpensive, fake jewelry. I also usually carry our stuff like passports and tickets with me at all times.

you're going to be totally fine - don't even worry about it! remember that some people don't even write reviews unless they have something to b*tch about, so they could be exaggerating. bring tummy medicine along, don't drink the water (bring or buy bottled water to brush your teeth) and have an AMAZING time!!!

i really dont mean to make you even more worried but last time i went to mexico my luggage was lost and i got it two days later. People also took things out of my luggage like purses but i got reimbursed for everything they took after i provided receipts and stuff, it was such a pain. Mexico has one the most unorganized airports ive ever seen when your luggage arrives they put all the bags on the floor and you see people digging through bags to find theirs. It was a headache and a big mess!
It happens to EVERYONE. My luggage also was lost when i arrived in Rome Italy two summers ago. Thats why when i go on our HM we both the decision, believe it or not, to take carry on luggage only one for me and one for FH and we are also going to take a big garment bag each. The airline allows two peices of luggage on flight.
I am not dealing with delayed/lost luggage ever again especially on my HM!

I will be bringing fake jewelry for sure. I don't mind that, the only real item will be my ring which will never leave my finger lol. What do you do w the passports and tickets when your swimming?

For international flights they allow a 22'' luggage for each passanger. They also allow a personal item. My personal item will be a huge garment bag for my clothes and FH is also taking one for his pants and nice shirts. Shoes are going into the 22' luggage along with makeup and everything else.

Good idea I think that I will do that too. I do not want to deal with any hiccups on our honeymoon. Just not in the mood for it. I will find out the particulars for Mexico. Thanks again.
