HM: Aruba - Where are you staying & why?

I should post this on the Honeymoon boards, but it is SO slow. We were thinking of doing Hawaii, but now I am trying to find someplace that is a little less $$$ - as we are a little more strapped for $$$ than I had hoped I like Aruba cause it is out of the nasty hurricane belt!

We're going to Aruba for 9 days, 8 nights. Staying at the Wyndham in a deluxe room. We picked Aruba because the weather is good all year round.

Renaissance-we have been many times before and love this place-plus there is a private island that you go to so you do not have to deal with crowds on the beach

We were originally booked to go to Aruba for our HM, but decided to go to Hawaii. We figured the heck with saving money, lets go all out.
So when we were booked for Aruba, we were staying at the Radisson. Alot of people from my job who always go to Aruba, recommended this hotel. They said it was beautiful! The Hyatt is also suppose to be really nice, but I was told that the Radisson is a little more romantic and not as may kids. Also, the Hyatt's rooms have very small balcony's. Either one of these hotels would be a nice choice.
I was also told the Marriott is nice, but was told the other hotels where nicer for our HM.
I would look into the congiere floor rooms at the Radisson, that is what we were going to do. It gives you breakfast everyday and other nice things. Go to the website.

There is also a thing called the Dine around program. It gives you the choice of 30 restaurants to choose from, for one set price. There is a website for it. We were going to do this for half of our trip. So we could go to restaurants not on the list the other half.

i have stayed at the wyndham in aruba. the beachfront there is one of the prettiest.

I just got back and we stayed at my aunt's timeshare, but for the first night we stayed at the Renaissance. It's downtown, and as another bride mentioned, it has a private beach with a boat that picks you up right in the lobby!

If you want the other hotels (Radisson, Hyatt, Marriott) they are at the far end of Aruba, about a 15 minute cab ride from town. The Marriott was outrageous!!! The Hyatt was also beautiful as always.

sorry I am an 07 bride but I wanted to tell you girls that honestly I go to Aruba every year for the past 7 years and I can tell you that ANY place you pick will be beautiful. All the hotels there are gorgeous!!

FH and I chose the Bacuti Beach Resort. It's alot smaller than those other big name hotels and that was the #1 reason we chose it. We don't want to deal with alot of kids on our HM. Also, the room we got is the Tara Suite and it's right on the beach. Absolutely gorgeous if you want to check out the pics on their site.

We're also staying at the bucuti. We wanted a place with no kids and we read a lot of reviews that said this place was very quiet and relaxing...exactly what we were looking for! I also read that the beach is less crowded than the high-rise area...but that whole private island thing sounds pretty cool, too!
We're REALLY excited for our honeymoon..we've never been on a real vacation together!

We stayed at the Radisson. Gorgeous stretch of beach and plenty of palapas (more than the other high rise hotels, which is important if you go during a high season). We really enjoyed the Radisson, but I think I might give the Hyatt a try next time. Both of these are on the same stretch of beach, not downtown, but plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, and many within walking distance. I posted a very long review of my trip on an Aruba thread on the Honeymoon Board if that helps.

We aren't going for our HM but went in 2004. We stayed at the Radisson and I HIGHLY recommend it. It was amazing!

Hi:
I honeymooned in Aruba in November this year and LOVED IT!! We stayed at the Wyndham and truly it was such a wonderful hotel. We stayed in room 1401, a one bedroom suite with a sitting room and huge bathroom with sunken tub and wall-to-wall glass two person shower. We had two balconies with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors with a view that looked directly towards the ocean and lighthouse. When we booked aruba we considered staying at the Hyatt, and Radisson, but it was a little bit more expensive (about $1000). We liked the Wyndham because of the balconies. The Wyndham always had a nice crowd with lots of people to talk too - getting a hut at 11:30am on the beach was never an issue although you should reserve one at 8:30am just to be sure. The pool was nice with water fountains and rock formations, pleantly of wait staff to take your orders. The casino was packed every night at about 10:00pm - we won some, lost some, you know how that goes. I'll post some pics of our honeymoon in a few minutes. FM me if you have any questions.

we also figured out that you can sneak into the hyatt pool and use their water slide which is so much fun! or of course you could just stay at the hyatt...

I am not going to Aruba for my honeymoorn but have gone many times - You girls are going to have the BEST time!

Make sure you eat at El Gauchos
and the 2 activities that you may be interested in are the Palm Pleasure Catamaran Snorkel trip and the the Kuku Kunuku Bus (can't spell) - it is SOOO much fun!

I am jealous!!!
