HM Disaster! Less than 2 weeks before we are supposed to leave!

I can't believe this! I got a phone call from Costco Travel last night. The overwater bungalow we were supposed to stay in in Bora Bora was destroyed by high tides (as far as I know no one was injured, people were evacuated on time, etc.) and now they are trying to find us another hotel but don't know if they will be able to!

I haven't been on a vacation for 2 years and my job is very high-stress! I need this vacation!!!!!

Just wanted to vent....

Thanks girls! I have been so stressed about the wedding and finally started to relax because everything was falling into place and then this happened!

I'm sorry you have to deal with this issue in the 11th hour..I hope it all works out and you still have the honeymoon of your dreams.

I know! I am trying to keep things in perspective and tell myself everything happens for a reason, but this is stressing me out!

Ok dont fret, lets think- ask them if they have anything in the cooks islands right there or in fiji- I know its not your first choice but at least you will still be in the south pacific with beautiful surroundings. call them right away and see if you can help them. GL!!! Im sure you will have an amazing HM!!!

omg thank God it happened now and not when you were there!! But nonetheless, i'm sorry it happened to you @ all......they have to do somethinh for you! they can't just leave you honeymoon-stranded! keep us updated...hope it all works out!

Hey I heard about that! It was a very high tide caused from a storm somewhere else and I think only the BB intercontinental was damaged.

Are they going to switch you to a new hotel?? We're going in June '06 and we've been doing a lot of research, as you probably did when you first booked, and we chose the BB Pearl. It is on its own motu island so it wasn't hit at all... no damage. Good luck and I hope everything works out!!!

No matter where you end up staying, while it may not be where you imagined, will be wonderful! Just being alone with DH for a week, with no job or wedding details to worry about will be very relaxing!!!

I'm sorry you're dealing with this unnecessary stress. I'm sure your travel agent will come up with a great alternative and you'll have an amazing HM.
