HM Emergency!!! Help!!!
The emergency is that I think my FH is marginally retarded, and does not want to go on a HM.

Originally our game plan was to go to Greece in late June/early July 2010, because the weather in December is really not much better than NY. Fine. Then it was like, well maybe we'll push it back till September 2010, because June it can still be rainy, July isn't super hot, and August is out because it's prime tourist season, therefore most expensive.
So aside from EVERYONE telling me that we're crazy to not have a HM for almost a year, I am ridiculously burned out from work, I have been very unhappy lately, and I'm having a lot of doubts about my future happiness/unhappiness. I feel like I'm caught in the rat race, and I'll never get out. So needless to say, I say eff Greece, let's just go to an island for a week and have a HM before life gets in the way, because if we keep putting it off, it will never happen.
He said no.
He actually said, and what are we going to do, there's nothing to do but sit on a beach. Um, yes, exactly! He said we can do that here![]()
I gave my very valid reasoning, and he discounted it, because Mr. Ego thinks that anything that is not Greece is not worthy. He also wants to 'spread it out' because he thinks if we have the wedding, move into a new house, AND go on HM in matter of weeks, it will all be over with too fast. Personally, I think that's ridiculous, and I would rather do all those newlywed type things before we settle in to work, cook dinner, laundry, clean, sleep, repeat for the rest of our lives.
Sooooooooo....long story very short, I think I am going to book us a HM to Aruba for a week after the wedding. I'm sure this will cause a major fight, but what's the worst thing that will happen? We sit on a beach with a pina colada and get a tan for a week, GOD FORBID. I am going to go get my passport in order this weekend, and I have enough money in the bank to do it. I won't spend the 2000 to get my wisdom teeth out lol, but this I'll do.
So is it possible to book a week long Aruba HM for around 3k total, or am I ridiculously out of touch? Also, please recommend where to book. I was looking at the Grand Occidental all inclusive package, but I've never travelled and I have no idea what is considered good. Or any other island that is safe and relatively upscale. I'm definitely not interested in slumming it if I'm going to risk having FH call off the wedding because I did this lol.
