I have to reccommend Cinque Terre because I thought it was the most beutiful place in Italy. It is 5 little towns on the Mediterranean that you can hike between - gorgeous and very romantic. I would also reccommend Sienna, a beautiful city also. Have fun!!

I've been to Cinque Terre too and it's beautiful! I loved it there..

i took a tour with Contiki called 'Simply Italy' a few years ago... all the people on the tour are age 18-35, so it certainly wasn't geriatric and there actually was acouple on their honeymoon on the tour. We did have a LOT of free time, but I wouldnot recommend it for a honeymoon. It is definitely NOT 'private.'

If you choose to visit Florence and Rome you can TOTALLY do this on your own. Florence is a pretty compact city, so nothing is too far away... and you know what? Getting a little bit lost is half the fun. Rome is a great city as well! A mix of modern day and antiquity.

In terms of getting from Rome to Florence, you can do this easily on the EuroStar train which leaves like every half an hour. You'll go directly to Florence. A no-brainer! Tickets range from $30-50 USD.

Get some travel books and a map, do your research... you can do it!

So how many cities can you reasonably see in a min of 10 days?

We did 3 cities in 7 or 8 days and I think we were fine. We saw pretty much everything we wanted (and even took a day trip to the Prada and Gucci outlets). We started in Milan, then took the EuroStar to Florence, then Venice.

How good are the prices at the outlets? Just curious.

Merf you didn't go to Rome? That is a very big one for us
