HM in Spain - too dangerous?

Do you think it would be too dangerous to go on a HM in Spain now? I still have that train attack on my mind. The FH isn't scared at all.

I think Europe in general is fine, safer than a lot of the other places you could pick (Bali, Turkey, etc). I'm taking a cruise and we're starting in Barcelona - it doesn't even phase me. Keep in mind, you live in NY every day. A couple of weeks in Spain isn't going to do you in.

I don't think it's too dangerous to go to Spain now. An attack like that could happen anywhere. We live/work in Manhattan and aren't letting fear determine what we do or don't do.

FFIL wants to go to turkey next year--on a cruise that hten goes to the greek ISlands. I Thikn he wants us to go withhim, btu I'm not sur ehow safe it is.

I think Spain is probably as safe ( or unsafe) as it is here.

I don't think a honeymoon is Spain would be dangerous. You should check out the US Department of State website's travel advisory section. It lists the most recent advisories issued by the US Government. The most recent urges US citizens to avoid Turks and Caicos due to the threat of Hurricane Frances.

Also check out the public announcements part of the website. Countries are listed as to where the highest risk is to US citizens and yes, Russia, is at the top of the list.

I went to Spain this summer with my girlfriends - we did not at any point feel unsafe - in Madrid we took the bus a lot. Then drove to most of our destinations. We actually took the speed train from Sevilla to Madrid - yeah we were a little cautious - but that is just a normal reaction after what NY experienced on 9/11 and after the Spain attacks. It certainly didnt stop us from doing anythign though.
