HM question - Aruba in July?

So FH and I are freaking out trying to plan our Christmas week vacation (he waits way too long on stuff). Of course I started poking around for HM destinations as well. So we thought that we would go to Bermuda for our HM in July, which is still possible (he has marriotte points and I think they have a Bermuda property). I saw the Intercontinental resort and casino for my points program in Aruba. Sounds fun! And 3 of the 4 nights would be on my points.

I know nothing about Aruba... what is the weather like in July (I would think very warm), how long does it take to get there from NY? I noticed Jet Blue has flights there, but what about Delta (he has points with them too)? I think Curacao is nearby too... anyone have insight on that place in July? Haven't checked if Marriotte is there, I know my points program is not.

I know it may sound cheesy - a hotel rewards points HM, but it's better than not going anywhere (I really want us to Honeymoon). I know of Sandals and all those wonderful packages that you hear about, but if I had $6k it would probably go to some other wedding necessity. I'm fine just spending 4 or 5 days on a beach with FH reflecting on our wedding and not thinking about work or any other stresses. I see no need for a 2 week HM - my boss is expecting me to take 2 weeks (believe that?). I can see that for Hawaii b/c it takes so long to get there, plus we live together so we do stuff all the time together. It's July afterall - we can always go to Jones Beach Very much kidding there.
