Has anyone heard of this? If so, is anyone doing this and are you putting it the card with your invitations? I heard it was a new thing and the travel agent was telling me about it. What do you all think?

Re: HM registry...
I have heard of it but don't know anything about having or using one.
In theory I really think it's a great idea but I don't think it's time has come yet. I think it will be perceived more as financing your HM versus enhancing it.

Re: HM registry...
we considered it but never got around to it. i think it's a great idea if you don't need the traiditonal house stuff.

Re: HM registry...
I am intrigued by it and actually posted about it a few weeks ago. My fiancee did not think too highly of it and neither did some of the girls posting responses. I tend to agree with that now. The purpose of a registry is to buy couples housewares to start off as they start their lives together. Granted - a lot of people already have stuff, but whatever. I don't think that people should be paying towards sending you on vacation. I don't think we should go ona specific honeymoon if they are out of our price ranges. JMO!

Re: HM registry...
we were considering it just because we don't need ANYTHING for the house and some people don't want to give just $, they want to know that it is spent on something good, so the honeymoon registry is good for that. It has nothing to do with out of our price range, it's just to offer our guests an option.

Re: HM registry...
We honestly don't really 'NEED' anything for our home. We definitely aren't going to spend more on the honeymoon just so that we can get money for the registry. It was just an idea and thought it was a good idea, but had mixed feelings about putting a card like that in our invitations.
But thank you for your opinions!

Re: HM registry...
I don't think you're supposed to put any registry info in your invitations.
That said, I think that a HM registry is a really nice idea. We have it in the back of our minds but, if we do it, we wouldn't necessarily expect many guests to use it. I don't know if this would appeal to you at all, but because we also didn't need too much in the way of housewares, we registered for wine to start a collection. Wine is more tangible (although certainly transient!) than a HM contribution, so we're hoping people purchase from that registry.
