Hm, the 'how close are you' thread got me thinking!

Hm, the 'how close are you' thread got me thinking!

I know it a most common thing to have DH in the delivery room you and sometimes the whole thing is even taped, but I am totally NOT letting my DH see the process 'in the whole glory!' I know it's a natural thing, I know that we made the baby together and therefore he should participate, but I there are some things that I WOULD NOT like him to see! I want him to come into the room for a while and hold my hand, but there is no way I am letting him 'admire the view'! Or anyone else for that matter! It's just for me and the doctor to 'enjoy'!

So, when it's time for you to push the baby out, will you insist that your DH is there with you able to see absolutely everything or are you going to set some boundaries?

He doesn't have to look, but I would like for him to be there with me. Does that make sense? I mean, he doesn't have to stare or look there, but I would like to have him nearby

I want him there with me too - and only him. Sometimes I see A Baby Story on TLC and they have the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors etc....why do they want all those people seeing their coochies!!! LOL

I had a c-section & my husband so ALOT more of me then most husband get to see. (sorry to sound graphic) but there was NO way he would miss that for anything. I'm hoping to have a natural childbirth w/ the next one. And he will be there for that to.

I totally want FH in there with me...then again, I was one of the women who said we do EVERYTHING in front of eachother. I don't think I want him 'down there' the whole time...I've heard of men not being able to look at that 'area' the same way again after seeing another being pop out of it.

I do want him to be there with me throughout the process but there is no way that he is going to tape it.

I want him there to hold my hand, but when it's time for the baby to come out I want him in the hallway. My sisters can take over then they will be much more calm and not get disgusted.
After they clean me up, he can come back.

I do think he will fight me on this tho'

I don't mind if he looks...but if I need a hand to sqeeze he must come back immediately!!

No tapes, no cameras please till everything is cleaned up
Def. no cousins, aunts and uncles

I heard that too. The last thing I want my man to remember when we're trying to be romantic is the bloody afterbirth

Matt was there for the whole thing 3 times and it hasn't affected our sex life one bit! He was up by me and down there. He guided my older son's head out because there were no nurses to assist the doctor. It was a beautiful thing that brought us closer together.

NO VIDEO NO PICS NO OTHER RELATIVES!!!!

NO, I want Brian as far away from me as possible. Just Me and the medical staff. (I think he would have seen enough of it to get me in that delivery room in the first place!)

DH will be there with me and he can look if he'd like to and help if he and the staff want him to. But there will be no video, pictures, or other relatives. No way.

What Now?...'fancy'...I love it! hehehe!

My DH was in the delivery room with me. Having quite a wonderful view too. In fact he delivered Justin. My OB let him hold the baby as he was coming out. DH is so proud of that moment and I wouldn't want to take that away from him

I definitely want my hubby with me in the delivery room but I prefer he stay by my head...lol!

Plus I'm not into that camera, videotaping stuff or having the entire family sitting in the room while this is happening. That's just me though.

I want Steven in with me the whole time..to hold my hand and to meet his baby. He doesn't have to look down there if he doesn't want to. I just don't want to be alone!

I WISH he would be there with me, but as much as I try and convince him, he won't do it. I'll be lucky if I get him within 20 feet of the hospital. (we're not preggo yet, but have talked about it many times)

He's not a wimpy man by any means, but he can't be in a hospital with out getting sick himself. He also can't look at blood. I cut my finger a few weeks ago and he was super helpful in getting me the supplies I needed, but he wouldn't look at it.

So, I am going into this whole TTC period knowing I may not be able to get my hubby in the delivery room. It's not an easy thing to deal with, but what other choice do I have?
