holiday bonuses

i was speaking to my boss earlier today & we where discussing holiday bonuses. we have not gotten down to the amounts yet but we where wondering if employees would prefer to receive them earlier then usual.

normally the bonus would be given with the last payroll check before the Christmas Holiday, which would be December 17. however we are thinking of giving them out within the next couple of pay periods.

we also get payroll increase which will not be effective until January 2010.

which would you like?

i would def take it now - it would force me to stick to my holiday shopping budget! meaning if I got a bunch of $$$ close to the holidays, I'd be more likely to spend it instead of putting it towards debt where it should be going (for me at least!)

I would rather get it earlier since I go shopping Black Friday and am usually done first week of Dec!! At this point, I will take ANY bonus ANY day of the week, so I wouldn't mind either but would prefer earlier if I had an option!
