Holiday Inn or La Quinta?

I'm looking into blocking rooms for my possible OOT guests. I don't think I will have more than 3 or 4 OOT guest.

1 - Is it worth blocking rooms since there are so few?

2 - Which hotel do you reccomend it seems like the wo closest are the Holiday Inn Westbury and La Quinta Inn Garden City?

JT girls...I'm sure you all have either blocked or looked into blcking. I think there was a thread a while back about blocking.

If you have rates or a good contact person at either hotel please FM me with details.

we blocked rooms at laquinta and spoke to makita but last time FH called he spoke with kristin b/c they said makita is in charge of housekeeping now or something like that....we got a rate of 139 dont know if your date will be more money because of its closeness to xmas and new years?

we got the same price.

just as background i believe the Wingate standard price (at least for summer) was $159/night but they would do $139/night if you blocked rooms. Then when they switched to La Quinta prices went up to I believe $179, but they would do $159/night for blocked rooms. I looked on their website and it has rooms for our nights listed at $199 but it also says that none are available (I guess we have them all reserved)

Me too and I am happy with them!!

We blocked rooms with La Quinta too. Cute hotel & convenient & I've had a great experience working with them so far. Even if you only need a few- I recommend blocking some. Whatever you don't use- you just release about 1 month before your wedding anyway... Better to be safe than sorry=- they book up FAST!
