Holiday Party on Friday...with nothing to wear!

I need suggestions. I have a holiday party on Friday night at the Three Village Inn. Its an 'intimate dinner party' really. I was told that some woment wear dresses, some pant suits, so it's really my discretion. The secretary told me she wore a long black dress last year with rhinetones on top.
I found one dress online last night, but I'm afraid to order it and have it not fit (since it would be here on Friday). I showed it to the secretary running this party, and she told me it was perfect (at first I would have said it was too much).
Where should I go to look?? FH went with me to Macy's Monday night, but I hated everything there. =o( Help!!
