Holy Budget Anxiety Vent!

So I just sat down and really looked over our budget again. Holy $hit this stuff is adding up! My 35K budget went to 40K then 45K and now I am praying to keep it under 50K and this is with my parents paying for DJ and Dress. (AND THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE THE HONEYMOON!!!) I'm starting to have real anxiety over this. The vendors aren't whats really killing me its the little things that add up, the bridal party gifts, card box,Matchbooks, Slipper Baskets, Favors,Grooms Cake, Cake Topper, Flower girl Baskets, weding bands etc.

ok sorry vent over!

Don't stress about it. I know it is frustrating but if these are things you want and you are getting your dream, you will make it happen!! Just breathe!

Ugh, I hear ya. The worst part is not being able to put your finger on WHY its costing so much!

I think the best way to look at it is: you're young, you have the rest of your lives to make lots of money. You (hopefully) only get this once and it will be documented for all eternity- seriously, your great-great grandchildren could very well look at your album and if they're anything like me they'll totally notice every little detail and take it all in. You're much more likely to regret what you don't do than what you do.
I'm also a money worrier and tend to save where I can but I finally said screw it, it's the one day in my entire life I can go all out on. So if I have to replace some meals with spaghetti- eh, no biggie!

I tend to get in these moods when I buy big purchases! In one sense I am so relieved and the other sense I am like holy crap more money out the window! It's overwhelming but it'll all be worth it!! I am trying to focus on the big things and then see where my money leaves me for the little things that I can do with or without!

I haven't even thought of all the little things, so I know I'll be getting anxiety once all of the big vendors are booked and I start concentrating on that stuff. We are also definitely going over budget and hoping we keep it under our next cap. It's so hard!!

I have a spreadsheet of the vendors, hall and some larger purchases.
I have an envelope with all the receipts from Michael's and other smaller purchases. I don't think I will add it up. Some of the receipts are under $20 but they add up quickly.

Major anxiety. There was a post on here where people were writing their total wedding budget. I was over their budgets and haven't booked anything yet but the RH. I was started to re-think getting married in June. The more I thought about it I realized this is something I will only do once so I think it is worth it.

I have OCD when it comes to my wedding budget. My parents are paying for a large portion of the wedding, but at the same time I don't want them to go broke...they're old!

I created an excel spreadsheet of my budget and created subcategories for each category (I used my budget list from theknot.com as a guideline). I have made it my goal to stay under budget in EVERY category. The only one that is over so far is photographer. But literally everything else, I'm way under. Our budget started at $50K and I'm hoping to come out at $49K - hey $1,000 makes a big difference.

The only problem was we didn't budget for the honeymoon. We plan on using our tax returns and some money from our wedding gifts to use for our honeymoon. I was also thinking about registering for one of those honeymoon funds.

But in the end, don't stress it. See where you can cut corners. A lot of the time, those little things go unnoticed and you ended up wasting $100 on flip flops that no used. (Just an example ladies!)

It is the little things that add up. Don't worry I have panic attacks over the budget all the time. Just breath and just when it comes to the little things if you know what you want to get plot out how much it will cost and save for that and keep the eye out for sales. I do. I didn't have the money the last time my bridal party gifts went on sale but next time.

I tried using the Knot's wedding budget calculator, but I didn't like that you didn't have control of it. I actually like the budget calculator that LIWeddings has!
