Holy Police Officers in Penn Station!!

Did anyone else notice how many police were there this morning? Don't get me wrong - I'm glad they are there - I just couldn't believe how many there were.

YEAH!!! I noticed that too this morning, there were groups of at least 4 or 5 cops around every corner! Just a preview of what next week will look like, I guess they're starting early!!

Yes I also saw an increased police presence at Jamaica station as well. I thought for a minute that someone got hurt or something, but then I realized they are just preparing for the convention. Fun, fun, fun.

My brother and sister-in-law are both city cops, and she was telling me that 5 or 6 cops from EACH precinct have been temporarily assigned to Penn for 12- or 14-hour shifts. Yikes!

yes i noticed there were cops and army people every 10 ft and in big groups....i thought it would be more effective if they were spread out....like 2 officers every 15 ft or so....

FH is a cop in Bklyn, and since so many are being pulled from all precincts to work the Convention, the ones who stay in the precinctc have to work lots of over time too. 12 hour shifts all week.

There were police on my train (Port Washington line) this morning...I was shocked!

I was thinking the same thing. There are always a bunch of them there but today they were everywhere....like roaches.

They were on my train platform last night in Penn Sta., when I was going home....I wonder what the end of this week will be like?
