I'm still in shock. I don't think it has really sunk in yet. I went from 'getting married in a year & 6 mos' to getting married in 11 months!!!! I'm so excited I think I'm going to literally explode!!! I am no longer a 2005 bride. I am now an October 2004 bride!!!! It took alot of work re-coordinating my vendors (my stomach has been in knots for days and I haven't slept) and a generous gift (the HM) from my wonderful mom but it's for real!!

I just have to say that my reception site has been wonderful through all this. They were so great and worked with me on everything. If anyone needs a site, consider the SandCastle, they are amazing people to work with!!

Holy crap. How far behind am I???? I have my site, my church, my photo, video and that's it!! What should my first priority be? DJ, florist? Methinks I have to get crackin'!

I know how you feel...I moved my date up too, I was a June 2005 bride, and I moved it up till July 2004. I only have the hall/church, and little by little I am getting there moving like a turtle. This weekend however I will get the Photo/video. The main reason, I moved it up is for fiance' sake. He said, lets not wait to long. I am so-------- fre***ken ------excited, it is not even funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats and welcome to the Oct 04 group. I think you're fine.. if you want there's a thread on 04 Brides dedicated to October brides.. if you want ideas on where people are and that sort of thing. Most are in all ranges of completion. No worries.

Ok - to answer some questions:

We moved the date up because we wanted to be married sooner (don't we all! ). I mean, why wait? Life is too short. It was worth a shot to see if it was doable and somehow it turned out to be!

We've had doubts about our date since we set it. We just didn't feel like things would be comfortable enough financially to do it in 2004. I was paying for 90% of the wedding myself because FI bought our home in January and since we don't live together, has to support it all on his own until we get married and I finally move in.

So my mom's gift of the HM helped alot more than I realized at first when she offered it. Plus, like I said, our reception site made it all possible. They were wonderful and really made me an irresistible deal for changing the date. (FM me if you want details on that)

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who did something like this! To be honest, I am a little nervous right now (only about the plans) but I'm sure it will go away as soon as everything starts to fall back into place! Thanks everyone for your well-wishes!

congrats!!! 1 months is plenty of time...people have planned in MUCH less time...(I had a friend who planned in 3 months!!!! - and it was really a beuatiful wedding)
