My DH and I are interested in installing a home alarm system in our new home.
Has anyone had this done? Any advice? Any opinions on which alarm companies are best?

We had it done through a company called Stop Alarms. Very reasonable on the installation. We have sensors on every window and door as well as glass sensors in each room. We pay $54 quarterly for the central station monitoring.

we used Slomin's. they have always been a pleasure to deal with (even when i accidentally set the alarm off).
i think it costs about $85 every three months for the alarm - but they are always running free installation specials if you sign on with them.

We were lucky our house had a system in place. We called around to a number of monitoring companies and decided to use Protection One. I think we pay $120.00 a year for fire and break/entry alarm.
They also applied for our Nassau County alarm permits for us.
