Home Improvements Advide needed!!!

Home Improvements Advide needed!!!

We have a long list of things to do!

Are there any things that should be done before others? For example painting before doing floors? Windows before painting?

Also should we do 1 room at a time or 1 task? Like do all the sheetrock, then all the spackle, then all the paint... or just work on 1 room from start to finish, then start the next?

Are there any recommendations for books or websites?

Do any of you have personal experiences or advice to share?

The first thing we did was the roof which was said in contract that we had to do.

Then of course my husband ripped out everything we didn't like. We had a friend come and help us resheetrock our Master Bedroom.

We decided we are going to do the windows first before we start painting. Since you would need to retouch after installing the windows.

Then I'm not sure if my DH wants to do the floors first then paint.

I think the best would be to paint first so you don't get it on the floors.

Spackling the friend I mentioned earlier started spackling and sanding all of our rooms upstairs and started working his way downstairs a couple of months ago and then we stopped. My DH now wants to resheetrock the whole downstairs.

I think we will wait for the new windows to resheetrock because I want to change some of the window sizes.

hey! congrats again! we did every task at a time. we needed pretty much everything for every room. so we did insullation in every room....then sheetrock in every room. then we painted every room...florrs are LAST it is so much easier and less stressful when you know you dont have to worry about the floor getting ruined!

If you are knocking down walls or spackling and putting up new ones with sheetrock I would do that first. They are very messy jobs. And I would do those tasks in all the rooms. Next do the windows and then paint. Finish with the floors.
