I am home sick from work and my job has the nerve to call me asking me questions. I am sorry but give me a break....i dont make any great salary or have any title over my head. If i did then sure call and ask away. So now of course i get a call about something and now im stressed because i know i am going to be questioned tomorrow about it. Also, how am i supposed to give you a good answer from home. Don't call me with problems. Plus I know I am getting thrown under the bus and its all my fault. Blame the one who isn't there.....why not!
Does this happen to anyone else? I am already sick enough now im just stressed. I HATE IT!!!

Sounds like you are dealing with my old boss. I hated that.. So rude!!
Dont stress, nothing you can do from home. Shut your phone off and go lay down

Yes, this sounds like my job. My boss calls, he even tried to call as we left for our honeymoon, just to be annoying. He has nothing to do but makes $150k a year, so to occupy his time bothers other people. I cant stand people like your boss and mine. They need to relax. People are off for a reason: not to be bothered!

That is so rude!!!!! I wouldn't of bothered to answer the phone. And shame on them for calling you at home when they knew you were out sick!!!

I hate that. I'd just turn my phone off and REST. If you're sick, then you're sick. Not much you can do from home. I used to get upset at my old job when the boss would say that he wanted the work to be our lives. He wanted it to come first above everything else... blah, blah, blah. You'd have to pay me a HECK of a lot more for it to become my 'life'. I think employers sometimes forget that there are PEOPLE working under them. People with lives. I never ever put work above my family or my health and i never will.
Just try not to think about it. Don't let yourself get stressed on TOP of already being sick.

My job just did this to me last week I talked to my union rep and he said they are not allowed to call me unless its an emergency. At my job i work in the records dept, and if the mail guy is out I do the school district mailrun for them. well it happens that he was going to be out and so they decided to call me to make sure i was coming in... WHat nerve !!! Leave me Alone i dont feel good!!

my boss used to do this to me allll the time On one of my days off when he called I just didnt answer when I came back he said something about it and I said I never received the call. He was pissed but I got the point across, he never called when I was off again.

Yes this has definitely happened to me. I work at a new job in a school with kids so everyone is always sick. I had a sinus infection about a month ago and called in sick for ONE day. My boss emailed me and asked if I was going to be in the next day! Like give me a break. I just feel like sick time is sick time especially when you really feel terrible.

I get calls every day that I am out. I was even told to check my email and voicemail during my HONEYMOON! Ironically, if I leave work an hour early, I have to mark it on my timesheet.

This is pretty common. My old boss would call me ALL the time when I was sick even on vacation it drove me crazy!! They still call for help and I was laid off over 9 months ago!!! UGHHHHHHH!!!
