Home theatre systems?

I have no clue and Best buy is like an electronic wonderland

Anyone know much about buying one?

We have the Bose system. The sound is incredible! You can feel it sometimes. Bose also has an amazing customer service department. A contractor knocked one of the little speakers down and Bose sent us a new one along with a box to send back the old one.

They also send out a disc every few months to update the system.

Just one word of caution regarding Best Buy...that store does not often have 'the best buy' for your money. Best Buy usually carries what you'd call the 'average' retail price for their electronics....meaning, that's the going rate that most stores are charging. However, you can often find MUCH better deals elsewhere - Circuit City for example, or even online at EBay or Buy.com.

My DH just bought a new Canon G5 digital camera on Buy.com for $150 less than what Best Buy wanted for the same EXACT product.
So, shop around...and don't be afraid to pass on the Best Buy trip...it might not be worth it in the long run!

HTH!

WE are going to buy ours at Ciruit City. We bought our big screen TV there, and LOVED them.
Hubby is looking at Onkyo or Bose, but leaning more towards the Bose system.

We have the Bose 321 system, and I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you have it really loud, I mean loud enough where the windows rattle, the sound isn't full, and surroundy (not a word, but I can't explain what the sound is not) My father used to have one of those panasonic systems that you can get for less than $300, and it was FAR better than the Bose 321. The only good thing about the 321 is that it has really easy set up, but other than that it's not that great.
