for those girls who had tastings already...

were any of you actually 'blown away' by the food??

did anyone get that 'OMG this food is amazing'

I want real answers...not the sugar coated answers and not the I need to defend my RH so im going to say it was amazing even though it was just good

it's OK if the food is Good or Great or Delicious etc

I just want to see and know what other people have experienced

We went to a tasting a few months ago and were blown away by most of the food. We got to taste basically everything they have to offer for a menu. There were a few things we weren't blown away with so we obviously won't choose them for our menu. Everything else was phenomenal.. We wouldn't have booked if we didn't get that OMG this is delicious feeling.

I'm pretty sure you're an NRC bride right? I'm surprised you weren't more impressed. FH and I, and both sets of parents were amazed by the food at our tasting, which is actually kind of surprising because we're ALL very picky about our food. My dad used to own a restaurant, so he especially is very critical. We were disappointed that they didn't give more CH food, but I have no doubt that the things they didn't put out are amazing anyway. FH was devouring the baby lamb chops and I kept going for more of the spanikopita. FFIL was blown away by the chateaubriand, and he's a HUGE steak eater. I loved the fish, even FH liked it and he doesn't like fish....and the chicken was, well, chicken. You also have to remember that for the tasting they don't season and decorate the food as they do for the wedding. For instance, they put all the sauces on the side. They won't do that for the wedding.

But aside from the food, we were even more impressed with the service. Everything about that day reinforced that we made the right decision with NRC.

It was weird. I wasnt crazy about the chicken corden bleu at the tasting (everyone else was), but we brought leftovers home, and when I ate it the next day I LOVED IT!!!!!!!

FH loved the veal and porkchop and the stuffed shrimp. I LOVED the stuffed shrimp. thought it was amazing.

The steak was good. We all liked it, but it needed more sauce IMO. Loved the potatoe.

Loved the salad and fresh mozz and peppers.

Mom loved the fish.

Overall, we all enjoyed it!

hells YES!!!!! thats one of the main reason we chose Russos! Food is actually AWESOME! not just good for a catering hall but actually freakin good!

at the tasting to book...we honestly were blown away. we also had my parents and brother with us. once we create our menu we will have another tasting. i Def knock on wood that it stays this way!

Honestly? Absolutely yes, the food at our RH is amazing.

BEST food I've ever had in my entire life? No. Very very close to best? Yes, def.

Russo's has always been that way. I've been to countless affairs there and they're so consistent. It always amazes me.

No tasting at JT, but I think I might have had an ****** when I tasted our cake from Dortoni's.

The only tasting that we've done was at Castle on the Hudson and yes, that was literally 'omg i think that was the BEST food we've ever had in our lives' moment.

It's out of our budget though... But next time they have a showcase I'll let you ladies know, it's a bit of a drive but for the best food ever, totally worth it

We had a taste at Fox Hollow plus they pass foor at their bridal showcases. Food is excellent! They make their own mozzarella!!

I haven't had the tasting yet but I'm looking forward to it. Food is a huge deal to FH and I and he is snobbier than I am so we'll see how it goes.

i haven't gone to a tasting specifically for our wedding but i went to a showcase that my RH had (they did a lot of renovations since we booked).....

me & FI was completely BLOWN AWAY! (and super stuffed! haha. we were the last to leave!)

i can't wait to have our own tasting!!!!

I'll be completely honest...

The food is what made us book our hall.

We visited about 13 halls before CLM, tasted 3 before we tasted CLM's food.. As soon as we started eating the food my FH and I both looked at each other and said we're sold. Even our parents agreed. The food was seriously amazing!!!!!

I am having my reception at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove and I can honestly say we were blown away by the food. FH was unsure about have the reception there, wasnt sure he loved the look of the place and they let us do a food tasting before we even booked- tasting the food was what made him want to have it there.

I went to the food tasting at CB and the filet Mignon and chicken was to die for...the salmon was not that good...but then again I am not a fish person. Other than the Salmon everything was amazing!

FH and I both honestly love the food at the Inn. After our tasting, we've been SEVERAL times for special occasions, mother's day, our anniversary, and we recently took his sister and brothers and everyone loved the food. The tasting was amazing and we wouldn't have booked if we had any reservations about it. I'm hoping we'll be just as impressed on the day of and it won't be 'typical' wedding food.
