is it TERRIBLE of me to have my bridal shower the weekend before my wedding?
for those that might have been living under a rock and dont know my situation: I just started planning my wedding a month ago... and decided to get married this sept. so we dont have much to play with.
my FSIL just moved to CO and cant really afford to fly in for my bridal shower AND the weedding, so if I have it the wknd before i could accmodate her.
and, i wouldnt mind having a little more time to register etc...
is it TOTALLY rude to expect people to travel to queens (FH's family is in NJ) 2 weekends in a row??

I think that your family and BP are very understanding of your situation and that you and your FH wanted to move the wedding up so time is limited. I doubt they will have a problem, but give them tons of warning so their pockets don't dry out too quickly

I think it's fine. When my cousin got married, we had her shower the week before too.
If people go, they go...if they decide not to and save it all for the wedding, then so be it. You know your friends and family best and can figure out if they're okay with it being so close to the wedding.

I have been to a shower that was the week before--it was a little bit smaller than most but people who lived further away didn't come---it was terrific though and a great stress relief for the bride---I say if it is easier for you --go for it!

I don't think it's rude, but I do think it's too close together. Remember that people will be buying you gifts for the shower and giving you money for the wedding. They'll be doing both regardless, but it may seem like more of a financial burden if they're so close together. JMO.

I just went to a shower this past Sunday & the BP was the night before. I was surprised they did it all in the same weekend but it was for the same reasons as you....to accommodate out of town family & friends. I say go for it if everyone you want to be there is game.
