Okay, not dont just say the first thing that comes to mind.....
Do i need to wear make-up on my wedding? I dont wear it.... at alll...... i only own mascara and it lasts until well, until is is empty, and i buy what is on sale. I wear it when i run a work meeting or on interviews, but thats that.
Never-ever foundation, lip stuff or blush Wouldnt know how to attempt eye shadow..
I know it looks nice, but im afraid it wont look like me...

Re: Honest opinion
Go for the trial. Those bright lights from the video camera and the flash are going to wash you out. You won't look like you. The best makeup makes it look like you're not wearing much at all.
To go on what Barb was saying. Walk into any department store and to any cosmetic counter tell them you want a natural look (emphasis on natural) and have them do a free makeup application for you. They'll try to get you to buy their lipstick or whatever, but be strong and just walk away.

I dont wear makeup either, but I plan on wearing a little the day of. I had heard that If you dont wear any makeup you will look washed out and pale in your pic. You should go for a trial and go for a natural look.

Re: Honest opinion
i have to say that my fiance wears minimal makeup. i love this, because i'm not a big fan of makeup.
however, at our engagement party, she went and had her make up done... and it didnt even look like her. i dont like pictures of us from the e party, because i feel like jackie looked like someone i dont know
when she goes for makeup trials for the wedding...i will be there, and give my thoughts.
our bestfriends got married recently... and although the bride looked pretty... i felt that she had WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much make up on, and it really didnt look like her at all. their wedding pics are weird to me, because Lisa looks like someone else
so to answer your question... i dont think you're crazy... you should do what you want
I think you should get a trial, tell them you want something very natural looking though and I think that you will be pleased with the results...

Re: Honest opinion
A friend of mine got married and she never wears makeup. She decided to do just loose translucent powder to keep down the shine, a little bit of blush (that I had to apply because she was clueless), clear lip gloss and mascara (which you already have!). She looked beautiful and totally like herself which was really important to her, but that little bit of makeup really helped in her pictures.
If you're SUPER against makeup, don't do it. ITA with the other girls--try it out, but if it's not you, don't do it. It will make you less happy on your big day, and no one wants that!

Re: Honest opinion
Hey Ali!!
Here is a suggestion...
I know I had a really good experience with Benefit cosmetics @ Macy's @ Roosevelt Field. They did a mini make-up trial on me and with a very natural look. It was free. I don't know if they still do that, but you can try. At least gives you a chance to see how you would look with make-up and save some $$ too.
You can also try at the MAC counter, but they are a bit pushy to sell you stuff. But you are not obligated to buy anything. It is worth a try.

Re: Honest opinion
i would wear make up but tell them to do a very natural look. The reason why is bc with the pro cameras with their flash can wash you out. Even with regular cameras, even when i have make up on i usually wear very light foundation and the way i look in person is very different after i see a pic of myself. If the make up is too sheer you can end up look pale and washed out so just keep that in mind.

Re: Honest opinion
i think you should be yourself on your wedding day ---- one thing i hate is when brides for example always wear theyre hair down and then for their wedding day they have it up in a tight bun..... i feel like its not them, and i think that if you dont wear make up, you would look nice, but it wouldnt be you..... its up to you i always wear make up so i cant imagine not lol, but if you feel more comfortable without then dont wear it!

I think its fine if you don't wear makeup on your wedding day. This is a day all about you and you should be as comfortable as possible. If you feel like it would bother and not look right since you don't usually wear it, then skip it.
I agree..I mean after all, the pictures should look like you not someone else

i dont wear makeup either... AT ALL... just cover up at times for those break-out moments... its the only thing i own... FH hates the way i look in makeup (used it to try to look older when we were younger trying to get into 18+ places lol)
im going to schedule a trial with someone and tell them to make it very light... i feel like i still need something for the day of...

Re: Honest opinion
Sorry I vote 'yes, you're crazy!'
You need makeup!
Find an artist to do something very natural for you, but you should wear something. Under the hot flashes you'll look very washed out if you don't. It doesn't have to be dramatic.

I voted yes! Your wedding is a special day, you should look your best, and makeup when done right will make you even more beautiful than what you already are. If you never have gotten your makeup done than you should def go for a trial. Also, remember that you can have someone go to your house to do your makeup, this way you don't have to worry about traveling at all on your wedding day. I recommend my girl for a try, she does natural all the way to a dramatic look, you can start soft and then go darker to see what you prefer. you can check my album to see how my trial came out, you can also look at how I looked in my engagement pictures as I went to my trial on the same day. You can also check out my wedding pics and see if you like the look, it's soft and classy.
