Honest opinions please girls??????

How would u feel if your FH and his mother were gonna do a fast song(funny dance, scit like) as there song they dance to..

you know like the bridal party, or bride & groom have been doing, where its like a fast funny song they dance to instead of a nice song.

I wish they were doing that. It's going to be so awkward and awful what they have planned right now, but whatever....

I would think it's a little weird. A wedding is a wedding, not a 'show.' I personally don't like skit like dances, but that's just me.

Honestly I think if it reflect their personalities and their relationship....why not? There are no rules to govern YOUR day, so it's up to you and FH. If that is what they choose to do, have fun with it! If you are violently opposed to it, express it to him, but I think it might be a fun, light change from the usual tear-jerking mother/son song. When you watch the video years from now I'm sure it will bring a smile to your FH and your face!

I dont want to just come out and say ummm i dont want you guys to do it, but honestly i think its gonna look dumb. its not there personalities. and honestly i dont want people leaving my wedding with a memory of my FH & his moms weird dance..

His mom thinks they can just wing it, meaning not even put something together and just play the song and dance out there.

Ohhhh, well this puts a whole new light on things. I thought from your original post that you didn't mind and were just asking what others thought. If you do not want it done, please express that to him sooner rather than later! Why don't you say, hey, I found a beautiful song for you and your Mom to dance to....let him listen to it and say it would mean a lot to you if you could see his mom and him dance to this song....
possibility? It's like saying don't do the skit dance without saying it, ya know?

I wouldnt want it done at my wedding.... it might look weird and it'll always be talked about as the 'weird part' of the wedding.

My FH and his mom were going to do the HUSSLE!

They changed last minute but I figured to each his own. I go first with my serious/sentimental dance with my dad so I didn't care.

It's a little odd to me and I'm pretty darn open minded

Is it a funny song or a funny dance like the chicken dance or something. . I did with my dad a sentimental song that went into a funny song he always used to sing to me but we just danced normal and he was actually soo surpirsed and touched that it was nice and not weird at all. . so if it really means something to FH I say that that will come through and not the weirdness. . though it sounds like in your case it's just wierd/funny for no reason and if you're not into I would def ask him to do something different

no, its Beat It by michael jackson..
and they arent starting off to a normal song then breaking into Beat it..
They are just doing Beat it and dancing like whatever out there..
Well that is what his mom is thinking so far..

so honestly im totally not for it, but if i say to FH that i dont want them doing it, he will just say what is the big deal and if my mom really wants to why not.

hmm.. well it's a little odd if it has not special meaning to them. . are they going to dance the whole song. . if they did a little bit and then the band/dj did an invite everyone to dance it might work . you could always approach it from you think that it's wierd to do a Jackson song since he just died. . IDK... in the end it will be fine. . and by this point you will be DONE with your dance and hopefully have a drink in hand!

I saw a father daughter dance like this and it was cute. I think its fine if they have the personality to pull it off.

I think it would be entertaining, a little wierd but nothing I would see as being horribly wrong

I guess I'm weird, but I don't think it's such a strange idea these days.

I don't know...if they're uncomfortable showing emotion in public, this might be a way to deflect that. I don't know how thrilled I'd be if FH and his mother did that, but neither of them are the type to ever do it. If anything, probably what me and MY father will do!
