Honestly....

Honestly....

So...

FH and I are paying for everything ourselves (as I am sure a lot of others are) and thus am on a limited budget.

I decided I did not want to spend a lot of money on my dress. Ideally I don't want to go over $500...definitely not over $1000.

So HONESTLY...should I even bother going anywhere besides David's Bridal?

My dress was really reasonable. I don't think David's bridal is always the least expensive. Check out Maggie dresses...they aren't that expensive!!!

Re: Honestly....

there are maggio sottero dresses under $1000, and you could also check out www.preownedweddingdresses.com or ebay or see if any LIW brides would be willing to sell you one of their dresses

if you want something more simple, jcrew, ann taylor, etc also have bridal lines

There are a couple of Maggie dresses that I love but I just figured they would be out of my price range...

there are plenty of dresses out there that are under $1000. i know some maggie sottero dresses that i've tried on were under $1000, also demetrios has lots of reasonably priced dresses. try bridal suite of centereach, fantasia bridal, and macys. just tell them the price range you want to stay in.

Re: Honestly....

how do you feel about wearing a preowned gown? somtimes they have never even been worn... this way if you fall in love with a more expensive dress, you can try to get it cheaper! i know i searched all these kinda sites for my dress, but no1 was selling one yet! i didnt care about it being worn... if its just worn for one day, how bad can it look right?

Try RK Bridal - I tried on a lot of dresses that were under $1000.

I felt the same way, I would def go to RK Bridal in the city, they have SO many dresses under $1k!

Also I've seen lots of Maggies for around $800 - $900 so it's worth checking out.

Thats absolutely true...I am just so afraid of getting something online and having it arrive and not being what was described. I might try that though...

Try Fantasia Bridal... I got mine.. Alfred Angelo style number 757... on the website it says it's 1500 - 1900... I was like NO WAY...but I wanted to try it on anyways. Sure enough, it only came to 825!! I would say shop around...

I got my dress at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. I think they have dresses in your price range. Call them and ask or stop in, they had a big selection

There are many dresses you can find under 1K, if you go on the knot and look under dresses, you can pick your price range and go from there, although David's isn't all bad, it's definitely not your only option, don't limit yourself, and always keep an eye out for trunk sales, you may surprise yourself and find something fabulous there too! Good Luck!!
