sit around the fire for a little story with a moral at the end:
i was at DB tuesday, by myself, bc i wanted to try on a couple of dresses alone (and i found it!) and there was a group of girls who were next to me trying on dresses. there were like 3--so the bride, who was a very pretty girl, had this dress on that did not fit her well...she was a bigger girl and the thinner satin just didnt look right on her. all of her friends (and the DB lady) were telling her how beautiful she looked in it. i felt that she just didnt look at beautiful as she could, but she was so undecided bc her friends were like omg thats perfect...so she tried on my dress and looked wonderful in it...so i spoke up at that point and was like omg that is the one...i think she made the right decision in the end...
does anyone ever get that feeling when shopping for dresses with other people...i feel like sometimes they just say you look nice and dont mean it...but your brought them there for their honest opinion..
so, girls, the moral of the story is....if you are ever dress shopping with a girlfriend and she doesnt look 100% perfect, say something....shell appreciate it in the end

Re: honesty is always the best policy
Oh yeah! I totally agree! I almost get nervous sometimes, too, that the woman who works there that's helping does that a bit too just so she can make a sale. I'm not going back to her, but I wouldn't want anyone else doing that to me.

You're right, I agree as well and would appreciate if someone is honest w/ me. I try to be as honest as I can w/ my friends, at time they get a bit sensitive....so i have to be careful with what i say and how i say it.

Re: honesty is always the best policy
That is why i took my grandma the first time i went dress shopping ( b/c i knew my mom would say anything looked good on me). She was dead honest if something didn't look great. The dress I ended up getting was the one where before i even looked in the mirror my grandma was like 'OMG Ashley wait until you see yourself' and when i looked in the mirror I started crying. But the second time we went, there were a few girls trying on dresses and some of them looked horrible on these girls and there friends were like 'Oh it looks great blah blah blah' And i'm thinking to myself ummm do you have 2 eyes...she's popping out of it!!!!!!

im glad you mentioned this bc i feel alot of girls on here are guilty of that.... saying someone looks completely gorgeous in something and im looking at the same pic saying... omg do these people need glasses? in the end, i just end up posting nothing bc some arent looking for the honest opinions!
PS: i actually didnt care for the dress you posted, but it looked much better on you than on the model! so im glad you posted pics of you in it!

Re: honesty is always the best policy
I agree sooo much! That's why my sis and a good freind of mine is my MOHs... First I will go with my Mom dress shopping...and I KNOW that she won't lie...b/c she's helping pay for it. She said that if she didn't like the way I looked she wouldn't pay that much...sooo...right there I know that she won't lie. Then, Before I make the purchase, I will bring my MOHs for their opinion... just to be sure it looks good on me from ALL angels! Soo... that's JMO... but they are ALL going to be 100% honest with me... Thank you lord!!!

That's precisely why I went alone, and my salesgirl, though in VA, is from the Bronx, so she was very honest and it was great!

This reminds me of Say Yes to the Dress from a few weeks ago when that bigger girl wanted the mermaid dress and the salesgirl and her friends were telling her how gorgeous she looked and then the gay guy (I forgot his name) came over and practically told her she looked terrible.
YUP YUP...I have to say everyone I went with was honest, trust me
