I would say either a cruise or Vegas. Do you gamble?

Re: Honeymon help, Again!!
If you are interested in a cruise checkout cruise411.com. I booked our Carnival cruise thruogh them & recieved a nice discount. Our's cost around $2500, but I booked way in advance & usually with crusing you can get a better deal booking closer to the sail date(they want to fill the ship). A friend of mine just returned from a cruise & it cost her & boyfriend around $1850 for both of them. Your wedding is one week before mine, so I know that Carnival has a cruise that leaves out of NY at 4PM the next day. It goes to the eastern caribean.
a few years ago DH and I went to Hawaii for $1000 each...air and hotel!! (not the BEST hotel...but ok)
youd be surprised what hawaii can go for...they get so much money from tourism...and both americans and japanese (their main tourists) are hurting...and prices are very low...
but check out the site...and you may find other places...

Curly- Check out Mexico! I'm sure you can find a package in that price range. Cruises are fun but like you said, it's going to be Hurricane season that time of year.

Re: Honeymon help, Again!!
We've already done a few places in Mexico and already been to Vegas. Cruising is out b/c of the rough waters. Oh, what to do, what to do, LOL!!!!!!!

WOMAN!!!
What about Florida Keys or Key Largo. You can go to Hawaii for cheaper than normal. There are many hotels on the Waikiki strip that are reasonable. Curacao? What about Europe-Spain, Italy. It can be done for less than you think. Or Amsterdam...

Re: Honeymon help, Again!!
Curly, any interest in visiting Europe? I think you can pull off a 5 night trip in under $1,000 pp in October/November, the airfare drops at that time. OR you can try traveling with a tour group (Contiki or Cosmos are the cheaper ones).
Also, you may want to wait just a tiny bit and perhaps go to Dominican Republic for an all inclusive.
Another option, what about staying local and relaxing. Since you would be going in the fall, often its the 'off season' for coastal/beachy things, but the weather is still reasonable.

Re: Honeymon help, Again!!
Check out celebrity cruises you can often find rates cheaper than Royal Carribean. My mother gets terrible sea sickness but she has done more than 15 cruises and does not have a problem.
Also check out cruise critic it is a posting board about cruising - there are special boards for each cruise line, destinations etc. They can usually tell you there where to find the best buys.
You can definitely do a cruise in your budget. And don't forget that all your meals will be included so you will only have to worry about alcohol and tours (if you want to save money you can take taxis to various beaches and still have a blast. During New Years one of the most expensive times FH and I last year could have done a nice celebrity cruise for about 1100 a person including airfare - BUT at the time you want to go you might get 500-800 a person - and maybe airfare - you will definetly be able to stay in your budget
