im getting married July 4th 2007 - basically next year..... i have no idea when the proper time is too book the honeymoon, obviously one year in advance seems silly to me, in terms of where i wana go probably Italy/ Paris/ or Greece if those 3 arent an option perhaps the Carribbean, fiance and i havent really discussed this matter, so i dont even know what his budget is, but he always does state 'wherever i would like to go' ...but when should we start booking?
any info greatly appreciated
thanks brides

Re: honeymoon
We booked our HM about a year in advance to get that rate. Sometimes rates go up on airline flights or cruises or hotels, so we wanted to lock into the price we were getting in case it went up. It tends to be cheaper to book early. Good luck!

Re: honeymoon
One - you can actually book your HM now if you wish. I booked in Feb '06 for my March '07 HM.
As for other pointers. Try to figure out an area in which you're interested. Pacific, Caribbean, US, Europe, etc. The try to come up with a ballpark figure in which you don't want to go over for the cost. All-inclusive resorts can help in this way by offering a couple every ammenity while on vacation. Then, talk with a TA to get free quotes.
I highly recommend Leslie from Travel Solutions - a vendor on here. FM me for more details!

Re: honeymoon
When i spoke to my travel agent she stated that booking about a year in advance is good just to get the rates of that year

Re: honeymoon
First I and you FH need to figure out what your budget is and decide where you want to go. I booked by October HM in March and was able to get a really good deal. Typically with air lines you won't be able to book too early b/c they won't have prices for the next year yet. But we were able to book our hotels and then got our air when it go a little closer. Your TA will help you out with that. I used In and Out Travel in Lindenhurst. FH me if you need more details.

Re: honeymoon
Discuss your budget and where you would like to go with FH and then book it. We booked ours 1 year in advance. Good luck!

Re: honeymoon
Also the fact that it is July 4th means that it may be harder to book a flight. I know it sounds silly to book so early but it might be the way to go. I am honeymooning during spring break and am already running into some problems with booking the place and the flight!

Re: honeymoon
I started booking hotels in Venice and Lake Como, Italy almost a year in advance and most of my first choices were gone already.
