When do start to book for the honeymoon? & did you go thru a website & do it yourself or to a travel agent?
**if you booked yourself, any website recommendations for all-inclusive resorts?

Re: honeymoon
We booked ours in September and did it by ourselves because ours was just a cruise out of PR then we decided to say at a hotel for a few days after the cruise it wasn't anything intricate. If its intricate I would definitely go through a travel agent

Re: honeymoon
We are planning on staying at an island (i.e bahamas, st. lucia, turks & caicos, etc... )
neither of us have been to the islands near the caribbean, so we don't know much about going there. from what we've heard we like what we've heard of sandals

Re: honeymoon
I've planned plenty of cruises on my own. Carnival is really good but if its a resort I might go to a travel agent probably not though.

Re: honeymoon
I used a travel agent.
I think I booked about a year in advance but I'm also going to Europe (Italy Greece Turkey Spain and Monaco)

Re: honeymoon
The sooner the better. I just booked Sandals St Lucia a few days ago through the Sandals web site (we are going in July 2011). The site already says most of the excursions are booked...(but not too worried, we will book them with other companies when we arrive).
I was going to go to a Travel Agent but when I saw the 65% off sale on the Sandals website, decided it was too good to pass up. I've read that if you book through a TA, they can readjust the price later on if the price drops after you book.

I can't wait to book my honeymoon. I'm as excited about that as I am the wedding.

Re: honeymoon
We're booked for Sandals Grande St. Lucia and ended up going through a TA - including the 65% discount they had. The TA was able to get us a direct flight vs. Sandals site which only had really long layovers. We booked it last month and are going right after the wedding. HTH!

Oh I didn't that about the flights being long layovers if booked thru the site.. Do you know if you get a direct flight with all travel agents or just the one you used?

The site might have it, it's just whenever they brought up the best deal available, it was always with a layover, with the TA I was able to get the best price + a better flight. I'm sure any travel agent can help you out.
I believe for St. Lucia, there's a JetBlue direct flight on Tuesdays from JFK :)
