Honeymoon
We are working with someone at everafterhoneymoons.com - Her minimunm budget is 6K.. I was in the same boat as you but had a hard time finding anything under 5.. She asks for $100 retainer.. which is used towards your honeymoon cost. No other fees. you fill out a questionaire and all this stuff. So far so good!

FH and I went to sandals la toc in Saint Lucia a few years ago at the end of August. We paid about 3500 for a week and it was beautiful. We booked it through Travelocity.

Did you already look into Secrets Maroma Beach in Mexico? FH and I booked there including round trip flights for just under 5k. We heard amazing things.

We've never been to a Secrets resort before but I heard AMAZING things about it... our travel agent told us that you can't beat the romance of Secrets Maroma Beach. They even have slots to deliver room service through the door to you if you don't wait to open up! (In case it's bow chica wow wow time!!!

Excellence is gorgeous but I was bored during the day bc there weren't activities to do. Sandals included snorkeling, sailboats, etc. Idk if secrets does but it's something to look into or else consider another 800-1000 on excursions. I love the pool and ocean but I can't lay out for hours, I got bored and I get drunk easily so I had to limit myself at times so I would be able to go out for dinner!
Btw. The rooftop rooms didn't look like they got as much sun as by the pool bc they have the rooftop which looked like it blocked some of the sun. Something to look into. I wish I researched a Lil more instead of booking so quick and worrying more about wedding planning so I don't want you to make my mistake!

I have been to secrets the vine twice and secrets silver sands once. Hubby has been to Maroma for a wedding. I swear by secrets resorts-they are the best!

Honeymoon
We're most likely booking a secrets resort for our honeymoon, is it true they have open air bathrooms?
And to the OP about St. Lucia: FH and I stayed there (Sandals la toc) in 2010 for 6 nights in March in a basic room and spent just under $4k. HTH!

Honeymoon
St. Lucia is beautiful and beautiful places to go like the volcano baths. Playa Mujeres is beautiful as well, only thing there isn't much to do since its a small island, but you have access to Cozumel which is a must for snorkling. I also loved Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen. Good luck on finding your perfect honeymoon!!
