Honeymoon

So excited finally getting the ball rolling on my honeymoon! Am I ahead or behind?? We are using Ever After Honeymoons online service. I am excited she sends her clients to such gorgeous places. That being said.. I wanted to poll on honeymoon budget. Whats the average (want to see if I am spending enough)

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We just booked 2 weeks in Hawaii. One week in Oahu and then 1 week on a cruise hopping around to all the islands. We also got nonstop flights from JFK. It was a ton of $$ and the most money I've ever spent on a trip, and I've been to Europe and on an African Safari, lol. I figure this will be my one big trip before I start popping out kids! Lol

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We're spending a little over 2 weeks in Australia and New Zealand. It's expensive, but not as much as I would have thought. I can't wait!!!!

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We can't afford much immediately after our wedding (like my dream honeymoon in Italy) but we do want to go somewhere soon after the wedding to unwind. We decided to go to Mexico for 5 days after the wedding. Our first anniversary trip is going to be either Italy (my choice) or Iceland (his choice). Our budget for our immediate honeymoon was $2000.

Re: Honeymoon

We are starting out in Disneyland for 2 nights on the way to Hawaii, four days/three nights in Waikiki Beach then a 7 day cruise around the Hawaiian islands. Our money is going to go flying but well worth it.

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

Our original booking was priced around 8k but we had to re-schedule a few things and change our whole itinerary around so we ended up actually saving about $2500 but our airfare was INSANE. We ended up paying only $100 less than what we paid to go to Hawaii which included 3 inter-island flights. Going over school breaks is robbery!

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We're touring Italy for 9 days and spending around 6K, but we're planning on spending a lot of money over there. A honeymoon is like a once in a lifetime trip IMO. Splurge and enjoy every second of it.

Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We booked a cruise, and at first had a budget of 3k, because we are paying for everything ourselves, but thanks to my FILs we are able to splurge more and we are still going on the cruise but get an awesome suite and excursions too. It's still affordable but feels like a splurge to us.

Yes! A few of my recently married friends did this and it worked out amazingly for them. I plan to make one soon, not so much out of necessity but because I can barely think of things to register for, we just have mostly everything already and have no need for upgrades or fine china. So instead of basically registering for excessive crap I don't want/need I want to register for our excursions. So our guests can feel like they 'gave us' our dream honeymoon.
