We can't afford much immediately after our wedding (like my dream honeymoon in Italy) but we do want to go somewhere soon after the wedding to unwind. We decided to go to Mexico for 5 days after the wedding. Our first anniversary trip is going to be either Italy (my choice) or Iceland (his choice). Our budget for our immediate honeymoon was $2000.
Same here! We can't afford to spend much after the wedding so we're considering Mexico as well. FM some info please. :)

Delgie - check out The Royal in Cancun, we went there two years ago. It's adults only and all rooms face the ocean. Price it out on different sites, we found the cheapest to be on the american airlines vacation site, we ended up saving $500!

I would just like to put it out there that I am crazy jealous of the ladies who can afford over 9,000 for a honeymoon. Can you adopt me?!??!!?!?
same here!
we're hoping to stay under 5K for our Hawaii honeymoon, we're doing it on a budget and it came to almost 4k for the lodging and airfare so we're trying to budget 1k for food (we're staying 12 days) but we'll see! lol

We are far from rich! But our parents are taking care of a lot of things to help us out...God bless them...thus making us paying that much for a honeymoon possible!

THIS!!! LOL. We are thinking Hawaii? And planning on spending 5-6k for hotel & airfare. Everything else we will pay seperate. Now I am wondering if our budget is too low?? Anyone doing a honeymoon registry?
Yes! A few of my recently married friends did this and it worked out amazingly for them. I plan to make one soon, not so much out of necessity but because I can barely think of things to register for, we just have mostly everything already and have no need for upgrades or fine china. So instead of basically registering for excessive crap I don't want/need I want to register for our excursions. So our guests can feel like they 'gave us' our dream honeymoon.
Which site did your friends use? The two we were considering are Honeyfund & Honeymoonwishes (I think that is what it is).
