Honeymoon Babies

Original post by jpavig

Is anyone planning on getting pregnant right after their wedding? My FH wants to get pregnant so badly. I'm just wondering if it's a bad idea, I keep saying that we should have some alone time together first. Any thoughts?

BTW. I really do want kids really bad. Just unsure about the timing.

Nope. We won't be trying for a baby until at earliest Fall 2006. It would be great if the baby would come after I graduated college. There are also a few trips we are planning on taking - particluarly our cross country trip next spring - that we could not do if we had kids.

It is a personal descision however FH and I are planning on getting pregnant that night! We have been together for over 10 years and own a home together that is why we are comfortable to make that descicion. I know everyone thinks they must have all these other things first before having a child but I think that whether or not we had a home we are ready to have children. I can sacrifice the material things and if it is really what you want I say go for it!!

Yes we are too. Unlike many girls who post I am 34 and FH will be 37. It's an entirely different stage of life. I've been working in my career for over ten years, scrimped and saved up money and well... we just don't have the time to wait nor do we want to. I moved in with FH right after the engagement to give us a year of just the two of us. If I could roll back the clock I don't think I would. It depends upon what stage of life you are at. Career?, been there, done that!

I'm still not too sure how I'll feel once we're actually married. I'll guess I'll have to wait. I would really love to have a baby right away but I don't want to regret rushing it.

Spend time with your husband first, get to know eachother better.. Do things, travel HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
Once the baby comes it is not about you & him anymore!!!!! Everything becomes about the baby!

Thanks for posting for me! I wish we had the luxury of a year or two but we don't. I will be 35 when we get married, my FH will be 37 and want two kids. Since we live together, I am hoping the first year of marriage won't be that hard and that we are starting to adjust now. My career is settled and I can't wait to take a years leave of absence after working for 15 years!

We may have a honeymoon baby but the plan right now is the end of this year to start TTC. We both want kids and want to be young parents. We have been together for 6 years and have lived together for 2 years. My job allows me to take my kids to work with me which another bonus. I am very excited to start a family. I am 26 and FH is 24

I am going to be a 2 weeks shy of 30 when I get married. I was going to think about approaching the baby thing about 1 year into our marriage. I would really like to try while I am in my early 30's just because of a somewhat paranoia that I have instilled in myself. A few people I know, including my sister, took over a year to get pregnant. (very persistent too and 1 miscarriage ) They had a lot of trouble conceiving. So I think maybe I will plan a nice trip probably to Italy around our 6 month-1 year mark and practice making a baby! Hey they say that's the funnest part right!

We arent - we are still too selfish right now to bring a child into this world. By the time we are married we would have been together for 5 years and living together for over 3. Having a house is not important to us at this point - we are just not ready. Its different for everyone no matter what age.

I would love to have a 'honeymoon baby' but I don't know what our financial/living situation is going to be. So we will most likely wait until we are settled in a bit.

MY FH and I would love to have a honeymoon baby - but I think we're gonna wait a little while. We want to move and start new jobs and we just need a little time to get our lives in order. We're still young, I'm 26 and he's 31, but I do want a big family (3-4 kids) so I do want to start while I am young. I'd say another year or so.....

we're probably going to wait 2-3 years. I loveeee babies, but i cant picture having to be responsible for anyone else right now (i still cant even take care of my own meals if FH doesnt cook them for me ). And right now, i just want to be care free- after the wedding planning is done, it will be like the Rennaisance.. just peaceful and relaxing

But, in the meantime, we'll practice alot

We are going to try immediately. I have Endometriosis and there is a possibility that I could become infertile. So I will be 29 when married. And we are not waiting...it will be full speed ahead. And we have been together 5 years already. So we have had our time together. We both want children right now and our parents are dying to become grandparents.
